Jobs Plus opened its doors in 1994 at City Gospel Mission with a staff of two — founder and executive director Burr Robinson and Senior Job Placement Director Arnold Davis, both of whom are still serving with the organization.

Our Job Readiness Training Program has evolved over the years, always maintaining its emphasis on helping clients develop the character qualities necessary for valuable employment, such as honesty, personal responsibility and discipline. The program has expanded in many ways:

  • Expanded staff to four (1996), then six (2004)
  • Doubled office space and added a Resource Center for client support and training (1999)
  • Launched the Graduate Program (2000)
  • Established the Jobs Plus Mary Starner Scholarship Fund (2000)
  • Began offering training at River City Correctional Center (2001)
  • Began working with eight other organizations to launch CityLink, whose vision is to create a facility that meets the needs of homeless people in Cincinnati (2004)
  • Expanded Jobs Plus Jail Ministry (2004)
