The mission of Jobs Plus is to serve individuals in low-income communites. As a result the people who walk through our door reflect many of the challenges of that demographic.
70 percent are male - 90 percent are between the ages of 18 and 49
- 80 percent are African-American
- 80 percent have a drug and alcohol background
- 65 percent have a felony
- 15 percent have a misdemeanor
- 40 percent did not complete high school
- 40 percent have a high school diploma or GED
- 19 percent have some college education
- 1 percent have a college diploma
- 20 percent are on welfare
