Mentors and residents meet once a week for two to three months prior to the resident’s release and continue to do so for three months afterward. At the same time, residents participate in the Jobs Plus job readiness program and work on finding meaningful employment.

As a mentor, your main objective is to be a faithful friend. This can involve providing spiritual encouragement, identifying resources to help them transition back into the community, helping clients set and achieve goals, talking on the phone and meeting together for encouragement and support.
