StepUp is a ministry of Jobs Plus Employment Network, a Christian organization founded in 1994 to help people from low-income communities become quality employees. Jobs Plus began working with correctional facilities in 2001 to help inmates (known as “residents”) make a successful transition from incarceration to work. Jobs Plus staff members conduct weekly classes at River City Correctional Center and a Bible study at Talbert House, a residential drug rehabilitation facility. StepUp is part of our ongoing efforts to support residents who want to get a fresh start after they are released from jail or rehab. So far, we have trained about 90 mentors and launched more than 130 mentor partnerships.
